Before posting your request, please add [REQUEST] at the beginning of your "Topic Title" so the designers can see that it is a request. And once your design has been completed it's always nice to say thanks to the designer so the mods know that your request has been completed. Once your request has been done the mods will add [Completed] to the topic title and/or lock the topic.

Graphic Size: There are a range of different sizes for signatures, Avatars etc, find an image of the size you would like and post it here, or, if you know the size just post that.
Image: Posting an image can be extremely helpful for designers as they then have some source images that you like that they can work with.
Text:The text that you would like to be displayed on your graphic.
Font: Unlike userbars, signatures or other graphics usually use various fonts to reflect the artwork that has been designed, if you require a specific font please name it and the designers will use that or a similar font.
Animation: if you require any animation, please specify exactly what you need, or post a sample image of an animation you like.
